{"id":12,"date":"2015-07-14T09:51:20","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T09:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/doceng2016.caa.tuwien.ac.at\/?page_id=12"},"modified":"2016-05-31T21:04:51","modified_gmt":"2016-05-31T21:04:51","slug":"call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/doceng2016.cvl.tuwien.ac.at\/?page_id=12","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doceng2016.cvl.tuwien.ac.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/cfp-doceng2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Download<\/a> the printable version of the Call for Papers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doceng2016.cvl.tuwien.ac.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/poster-final-o.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Download<\/a> the DocEng 2016 poster.<\/p>\n<p>The 16th\u00a0ACM Symposium on Document Engineering (DocEng 2016) seeks original research papers that focus on the design, implementation, development, management, use and evaluation of advanced systems where <span class=\"important\">documents<\/span> and <span class=\"important\">document collections<\/span> play a key role.<\/p>\n<p>Authors are invited to submit original work in one of the following forms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Full papers<\/strong>\u00a0describing complete works of research (up to 10 pages)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Short papers\u00a0<\/strong>describing smaller complete works of research or novel challenges or visions (up to 4 pages)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application notes\/demos<\/strong>\u00a0describing systems or tools of interest to the DocEng community (up to 4 pages)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Doctoral consortium<\/strong> intended to provide a venue for student researchers presenting their work (up to 2 pages)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Accepted full papers will be given an oral presentation.\u00a0Short papers will be assigned to oral or poster presentation.\u00a0Application notes will have a poster presentation and\/or\u00a0system demonstration.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"\/?page_id=347\">Workshop\/tutorial proposals<\/a><\/strong>: tutorials are\u00a0by a domain expert and introduce a current\u00a0topic of interest to symposium attendees\u00a0while workshops provide an informal setting\u00a0in which to develop vision and exchange\u00a0ideas in a specialized field of interest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the fourth time, we will have a <a href=\"https:\/\/doceng2016.cvl.tuwien.ac.at\/?page_id=308\">Doctoral Consortium &#8211;\u00a0ProDoc@DocEng<\/a>.\u00a0Doctoral students in their second year or later present their\u00a0dissertation project and will get feedback from a panel of senior\u00a0researchers as well as from the general audience.<\/p>\n<p>All submissions will undergo a rigorous review process considering the originality of work, the quality of research or analysis of experience, the relevance to document engineering, and quality of presentation of ideas. All full papers are eligible to win the ACM SIGWEB Best Paper Award for DocEng 2016. All student first-author papers are eligible to win the DocEng Best Student Paper Award for 2016.<\/p>\n<p>With the exception of the Doctoral Consortium, all accepted papers in the above categories will be\u00a0included in the DocEng proceedings and be\u00a0published in the ACM Digital Library. Submissions\u00a0will be through EasyChair and should adhere to\u00a0the ACM SIG Proceedings format.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Symposium format<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DocEng is a single track conference attended by a community of academic and industrial researchers. It will be preceded by one day of workshops and tutorials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AUTHORS TAKE NOTE<\/strong>: The official publication date is the date the proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library. This date may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of your conference. The official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings related to published work.
